"Working in ceramics is a constant experiment for me. Working from my ideas, I look for ways of playing with variations, producing a series of objects which are similar but are unique in their own way."

I use a manual kick-wheel to form my pottery. Most of my pots are made of porcelain, but I sometimes use stoneware as well. After throwing pots I like to cut, poke, prod, warp, and assemble them in a way that solidifies the soft and elastic characteristics of the clay. When I am done forming I often decorate pieces with various slips to enhance the color of the clay. After glazing, the pottery is loaded into my single chamber wood kiln. Firing this kiln takes about two days of constant stoking. The flames and the wood ash give each piece a unique quality that can never be exactly replicated, therefore every vessel that emerges is absolutely unique.
